Now the free version of Google’s AI Gemini is even more comprehensive
Google wants to continue offering its users an intuitive and easy way to use its artificial intelligence. Moreover, now with so much competition such as all the improvements of ChatGPT or the arrival of DeepSeek and Grok 3, Google is seeking to draw as much attention as possible to its AI.
For this and more, the company has announced the arrival of a feature that was previously exclusively paid for, to all users of the free Gemini plan. We are talking about the possibility of the AI analyzing all our documents. Below we tell you all the details.
Uploading and processing documents in Gemini is now free
As they have admitted through their social networks, Google has made this feature available to all its users. Basically, any user who has the Gemini app on mobile devices or through the web will be able to upload PDF documents and Google Docs or Word files so that Gemini can analyze them and respond to our requests.
To provide the documents, we can use Google Drive or upload them from our own device. In the Gemini interface, we just have to click the ‘+’ button to add these documents and write a prompt to ask the AI any question related to the document, including summary functions, personalized feedback, or practical ideas for putting them into action.
In addition to providing documents locally or from the Google Drive cloud, Gemini can also process multiple documents in the same prompt. As Google warns, users should be aware of Gemini’s responses based on our documents. Furthermore, it would not be advisable to share personal information with the assistant.
Although the feature has now become free for everyone, there are still reasons to use a more advanced Gemini plan to process documents, because while it is unclear how much information the free version of Gemini can process before reaching its limit, Gemini Advanced provides us with up to 1 million tokens. In this case, the Gemini Advanced plan offers us one month free and then a monthly cost of 21.99 euros.
The good news is that this feature is not exclusive to Gemini, so if you want to continue with the free plan and reach the limit, you can always continue with other AIs that offer similar features, such as ChatGPT, Copilot, DeepSeek and many others.
