A wonderful way to recycle old clothes and give them a second life like a carpet
We don’t know what kind of secret hole there is in the washing machine, through which so many socks slip, leaving our partner alone and unusable, even though they are in excellent condition. It also happens that only one of a pair of socks is torn, and the other, not yet damaged, has nothing left but to go to the trash. In a nutshell every home has mismatched socks that end up being thrown away, but they can be used for decorative projects that no one has ever thought of being able to make from used socks.
As with broken hangers and empty egg cups, if you save all the orphan socks, and when their You will have a lot (and even better, if they have bright colors and patterns), you can take a trick with which we entertain, recycle and decorate the house at the same time.
To be more precise, old socks need wicker carpet. First you need to cut them, and it doesn’t matter that some of them are slightly torn, because the rest of the fabric can be used.
Then, as you can see in the video below, we weave the pieces, forming a kind of “braids” that can be any Length.
Finally, we connect these braids with stitches so that the carpet takes its final shape. The finished mat or mats can be used as a mat or directly as a mat.
